It sounds like science fiction — a naval gun capable of firing a projectile at 2.5 kilometres per second — but does the technology stack up to the military bravado?

Dr 'who ever' is very out of touch it's not hard to generate that level of power at sea, melting steel rails give me a break if real its only a engineering issue, power in = power out, super high velocity & range for lower per shot cost than other systems. Dr no practical ability

Headline stupid, story old news, real threat nil. If the US can't master the rail gun technology, China has little hope. The amount of instantaneous energy required is huge &, even if capable, it takes time to accumulate energy for any subsequent firing, if the rails haven't melt

Is that even a railgun in that picture of the Chinese ship? Let's confirm that before whipping up an ABC frenzy.

Lmfao. Oh my God

War ships, war planes, missiles, tanks armies; there's a billion more intelligent ways to defeat a nation. War ships, war planes, missiles, tanks and armies is wishful thinking.

It's an old technology that America will actually use, now that somebody else is going to, but until now, money has been made using primitive weapon systems. Build bunkers? Maybe just take our destiny out of the hands of idiots. Even railguns are primitive.

Old news and old rail gun footage. Catch up abc

Why is China behaving like Hitler ?.

If we want a better, kinder society, it needs to start with usMy guess is far too many kids think the world will burn to a crisp in their lifetime, all business people are crooks, all tradies are untrustworthy and all banks are rip off machines. It's not at all funny being lectured by one of the most well-cushioned porkers to come away from publicly funded largesse about reigning in expectations. I guess the Coalition has always been about smarmy, patronising classism. Go die somewhere quietly amandavanstone A white European Anglo Christian Australian writing about kindness given their xenophobic & racist terrorism on Earth's innocent humanity minding their own business on their own lands is hypocrisy. In Australia, look at what they did! And still the Marxist media pump out the picture of a child dumped on an overcrowded boat by his economic migrant / welfare seeking supposed parents who wanted to get to Canada to get new teeth for free

But it won’t affect the bonuses of the management Is this what happens when you run critical apps in the cloud and their SLA is only 99.99% (with caveats), but you can build a better solution on-prem that delivers higher availability for customers, with better controls by IT teams? What's the cause of these outages? Corrupt internal management!
