Western Bulldogs president Kylie Watson-Wheeler has backed senior coach Luke Beveridge despite the “disappointment and frustration” from losing “a game we all definitely expected to win”. The Dogs fell to Hawthorn on Sunday despite kicking three goals in the first six minutes of the game and fighting back to lead by two points midway through the final quarter.
” Watson-Wheeler believes she can “see, hear and feel” positive signs that Beveridge is still the right man for the task at hand. “Those conversations are all being had,” she said. “It’s not as if we’re all sitting outside and not knowing what’s happening in there and not necessarily seeing how people are connecting.” Beveridge’s coaching group is “still settling in”, she said, after adding Matt Egan and Daniel Pratt this year.
