Weather of opposite extremes forecast across Australia

The hottest places will be the Pilbara and Kimberley, where some inland locations are forecast to reach the mid forties over the weekend.

Weatherzone predicts this could be the city's warmest November night in nine years and their warmest day in 16 years.A vigorous cold front is bringing a burst of wintry showers, small hail and alpine snow to Tasmania, South Australia and Victoria as well as parts of southern NSW. Melbourne is expected to be well below average temperatures for the month this weekend while Perth swelters in 40 degree heat.

Snowfall currently occurring in the Victorian alps could continue tomorrow morning but is likely to cease over the weekend.
