More than 40 weather warnings are in place across NSW as the state battles extreme levels of rain, with emergency services warning multiple communities to prepare to be cut off from power, water, and essential services.
NSW SES Assistant Commissioner Sean Kearns warned conditions were likely to worsen on Friday night, particularly between Blue Mountains and Narooma which was forecast for torrential rail and potentially life-threatening flooding. Warragamba Dam in the Blue Mountains National Park is feared to spill over on Monday, with Premier Chris Minns saying on Friday morning it had already risen to 96 per cent capacity.
