He ordered black tea and chocolate cheesecake before asking to change tables, moving to an L-shaped booth at the back of the café.At 9.41am, Monis directed cafe manager Tori Johnson to call 000 and notify authorities that all those in the cafe, eight staff and 10 customers, had been taken hostage. Barrister and Sydney mother-of-three, Katrina Dawson, 38, died when hit by fragments of police bullets.

“I was very mindful, too, that we were showing these pictures live, as it was happening, and very mindful that there were people at home who had loved ones who worked at the Lindt Cafe. “We had seen events, we’d seen sieges, we’d seen the Islamic State flag, we’d seen so much happening on the other side of the world and suddenly it is right in the heart of Sydney’s CBD on a Monday,” Doyle told 7NEWS.com.au.
