Federal Police have revealed they seized the largest shipment of opioid fentanyl in Australian history at the Port of Melbourne.
Australian Border Force commander James Watson said officers found 11 kilograms of pure fentanyl, which he said was an “extraordinary” amount given police typically only detect about a gram in other seizures. “I’d describe it as a total act of bastardy, quite frankly. The impact of this on our community, had it reached the streets ... it doesn’t bear thinking about.
