Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has issued a plea for retired and former teachers to help schools cover staff when they are forced into isolation due to COVID-19.

Premier Daniel Andrews took to social media on Thursday to make a pitch for additional support for the state's education system just days before students head back to the classroom.

"We're rolling out free RATs, air purifiers and vaccines - but the most important thing in any classroom is a teacher. Which is why we need your help." The retired teachers and support workers will help schools cover staff who are forced into isolation because of COVID-19. "The Job Opportunity Pool will make sure schools have a list of qualified, available local workers they can call up and cover the inevitable gaps that come up.

"I think it speaks volumes of the values of our great state, that everybody is willing to work together, to put their hands up to assist. More than 14 million rapid antigen tests , including 6.6 million for the first week of the term, will be delivered to schools and early childhood centres across the state.

Instead of the pitch, try the ditch. Ditch the illegal mandates and rehire all the free thinking teachers?

How about you get rid of vaccine mandate and make it a bit easier
