Growing up, Maria didn’t recognise the 'dangerous Fairfield' she saw in the news. Her film showcase will instead depict the 'vibrant' western Sydney suburb she knows and loves - via TheFeedSBS

The virtual event will showcase 12 films made right before lockdown by artists and filmmakers from Fairfield. “I don’t see this other side that the mainstream sees.”

“Sometimes, people will throw you these comments like ‘we didn’t expect you to be so commanding and know how to work a set’,” Maria said. “But instead of going quiet, she was very feisty, just like a gangster lady. She was like ‘this is just how I am… every woman is strong’.” “At the height of anxiety and the uncertainties in Fairfield, this [film showcase] is going to emerge,” Maria said.

They’ve been in Victoria on & off for a year. At the request of Dan. Didn’t hear a peep from him when ADF were here. Surely they have an alternative attire than war game bush ware If you tolerate totalitarianism then it will only end very badly.

New modelling shows Sydney has avoided disaster so farOn this day one year ago, Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews stood before reporters in the middle of the state’s deadly second wave and told Victorians the lockdown was working “but too slowly”. The modelling is already wrong if it says 540 cases a day by Friday. The modelling is always wrong. Stop acting like models are science when they are guesstimates at best.
