I’m sure most of those affected have paid more tax than most of those egging this on though

Given that the Labor party is full of Fabian socialists, one could hardly expect them to change this policy. As Bowen said “if you don’t like our policy vote for someone else”. Good advice, which many Australians will happily accept.

Don't NEED to Overhaul it billshortenmp Just roll it back to per 2001. auspol

Boeufblogginon And why should they? Franking credits is now understood to be a rich man's RORT. LNPfail ElectionNow votelabor

Shorten wont be brow beaten by the vicious right wing gutter press~! .......

It is smart politicing it poor policy.

GOOD!!

billshortenmp , I suggest you explain every part of your intended policy and it’s impact on various sectors of the population, otherwise it will just continue to be one big bunfight. The hate on baby boomers is over the top. They never got a choice when they were born......

Not to mention Labor’s Social Justice “reforms” from their loonie left in which Police will be given the right to remove your under 16 year old children because you refuse to give them hormone blockers or you are criminally charged because you refuse to use transgender pronouns.

Good , another Nail in the Coffin , Cracks starting to appear ?

Good, we need to have a government that stands for something.

Good

auspol BREAKING: Political Leader sticks to his word. IN OTHER NEWS: Bevan Shields frantically pumps up a conniving, lying PM and Treasurer as per orders.

Doesn't this idiot realize it's going to affect everyone with a super fund, not only smsf investors.

This is a disgraceful policy as people have been planning for retirement for say 15-20 years on this basis & now you are changing the rules & in effect taxing them 25%. Just means I’ll go from self funded to getting the pension earlier...long term r they really going 2 save $$

Not even when they realise it will cost them more not to keep them and lose them votes?

Good on you BillShorten for showing some balls early on. Please don't capitulate to scaremongering. Bring on some justice through Federal ICAC. Don't let the rorters off. We're behind you

If the people of this country can't see what a better policy the Labor alternative is then god help us. stopthrorts votelnpout

Good because there’s no pathway to victory for the coalition auspol nswpol

Here’s a concept you may never have thought of Bill! What do the people of Australia actually want? Just say’n!

I'll translate. billshortenmp would rather spend $5B on schools, hospitals and climatechange than give away money that wasn't earned. We cant afford to go down the path of Greece

Why is that breaking.

good

Bill made sure to clear that all with wifey first though.

Good. That is 5.9 billion dollars that is needed for the NDIS, health, education. These people haven’t paid income tax, so they have no business getting a “refund”. FrankingCredits

Yeah, that’s great ..... BUT... the biggest question I would like you to answer is..... are you/Labor Party if in G’ment, going to implement an inheritance tax? Whisper is that it is on the agenda but only after being in G’ment for 6mths. Well Mr Shorten?

I think this demographic doesn't vote labor anyway. So good to see decisions made for proper reasons rather than always chasing a few maybe votes. Like the boy and the the donkey. You can't please everyone so do what is right.

tax refund on non tax paying pensioners was d invention of Peter Costello's excess Remember he was giving away $5k baby bonus At every election LNP has dangled tax cuts as they were flushed with cash Time has changed our debt is $550bils

Fantastic.

good

Shorten is right. Please ask the government to defend giving a tax refund to people who don’t pay tax.

'Ripping Australians off': Labor signals hardline on poor performing super fundsPoorly performing superannuation funds could be forced out of the default super sector or made to merge under plans signalled by the Labor Party | swrighteconomy swrighteconomy BUT Labor won't stop the skimming by Union funds to fund Labor... nor forcing workers to change to the Union fund when they change jobs. Yep Australia, be careful what you vote for. swrighteconomy No point in merging them - then you would have bigger crap funds. Have an accreditation system for funds that are permitted to maintain super schemes; withdraw accreditation for fraud, poor performance, high fees etc. swrighteconomy Yeh merge with the Union Super Funds.

Labor confident of landing five Liberal seats at electionThere are calls for the Labor party to expand the scope of its Victorian campaign to include the blue-ribbon seats of Higgins and Flinders. The ALP will have their thunder stolen by a sweep of Independents winning seats in many locations. Aussies are over ground hog day at giving each side a turn at screwing over every day Australians time and time again. Isn’t Labor terrified now that the Libs have brought out their secret weapon, some old guy called Howard? Not this time. How many times do we need to get done over by the major parties. Time for a disruptive change. And whatever that looks like it will involve independents and a new direction.

PM warns Australian economy could tumble into recession under LaborScott Morrison says Australia risks tumbling into a damaging recession under a Labor government auspol | BevanShields BevanShields How about use claims not say in the headline? BevanShields What a load of rubbish - based on what? If Australia is at risk of 'tumbling into recession' its got nothing to do with Labor and everything to do with the last 6 years of you destroying the job security of the middle class. BevanShields Labor kept us out of the Great Recession with skill. Had we listened to the Coalition we would have embraced the austerity that failed to save other nations from the crunch and paved the way for the rise of the far right. This man is a worthless fool
