Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese has kicked off a week-long tour in Queensland, slamming the Morrison government’s lack of action on climate change. Mr Albanese claimed Australia was falling behind the rest of the world.
“The outlier here is Scott Morrison; Scott Morrison who refuses to commit to net zero emissions by 2050 and I saw in one newspaper today that was ambitious that he was trying to get there," he said. “We’re behind. We’re in the naughty corner”. Mr Albanese also supported Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk’s hard border closures saying, “you can’t have jobs and economic activity unless people are kept safe”. “I think Premier Palaszczuk has got it right at every call.
