After five years of preparation, there are two kinds of Olympic events: those that forgive and those that do not. The Australian men’s rugby sevens team thought they were in the former kind, but put themselves, on Monday at Tokyo Stadium, in the latter.

At half-time, he stressed the importance of winning those restarts and matching the physicality of the impressive Argentinians.Explaining his decision to hold Kerevi back, Walsh said, “He’s not probably sevens fit.
