A young mother has made a heartbreaking plea for Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to do more to reign in Australia’s spiraling cost of living crisis.

‘We need that help’: Young mum Emma Robertson makes plea for PM to do more to ease cost of living crisis

“We do everything we can to cut where we can just to survive, to be able to put food on the table, get nappies, wipes - you know, just the normal essentials that you usually wouldn't be an issue but now are an issue,” she said. “This is not where I saw my life, unfortunately, but ... it is where we are and we've just got to try and get through every week,” she said.

When asked what would help a family like hers, the young mother made a plea for the government to do more to “ease cost of living.” The Albanese government has claimed the tax cuts “meaningful cost-of-living relief”, but when Ms Robertson was asked what difference they would make, the young mother said they would do “pretty much nothing at all”.The young mother said one of the biggest cost increases she was having to deal with was child care.
