Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has issued a plea for Australia to do more to help fight off the Russian invasion of his country. He's declaring that the support already offered will go down in history. 9News

The man who's become the symbol of Ukrainian resistance and an international icon spoke about the horrors he has seen, the threat to Europe of a nuclear attack, the war's effects on his family and what it feels like to have a target on his head, in a wide-ranging in-person interview with"I have to be only very thankful to Australian people that you helped us already. And it's true. But we need more.

His comments came at a key point in the war for Ukraine's survival. Russia has publicly stepped back from its attempt on the capital of Kyiv, where restaurants and cafes are reopening in a return to something approaching normal. There, on the outskirts of Kyiv, bodies were found laying in the streets and the sounds of excavators digging more graves sometimes drowned out mourning in the local cemetery.

It was on that visit to Bucha, more than at any other time, that the emotional impact of the war appeared to show on the president's face."You can lose your humanity and I want not to lose it. I want to keep my humanity and that is why I'm watching all of it. I'm looking at photos.Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says he is not afraid to show some weakness.

Ukrainian athletes fleeing Russia's invasion will have their humanitarian visas supported by the AOCThe Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) will support Ukrainian athletes seeking to resettle in Australia on humanitarian grounds amid Russia's invasion of Ukraine, outgoing AOC President John Coates says. Fuck Ukraine When there was brutal civil war in Sudan, nobody in Australia fast-tracked visas to Sudanese civilians. The staggering hypocrisy is that we've been involved in wars that have caused far more civilian deaths and created more refugees than Russia has done in Ukraine. But why are Russian still being allowed to compete world wide. I am proud of of English tennis. Olympic sport is JUST FOR THE MONEY- The Olympic SPIRIT is long dead.
