If the Feds wont build air gapped quarantine, states should get on with it and show the public how much it cost & public can vote out the Feds. Maybe Feds will help fund it. Build it, if covid ends sell accomm as holiday parks. GladysB, NSW gov can make $

BS...truth is you want slave..doing the job for penny.

What they are really saying is ' we want workers we can exploit by paying them way less than the minimum wage'

Stop being cheapskates and pay by the hour. If you're worried about productivity hire a supervisor too.

if biz is willing to pay $4k It is very costly to run it with so many health staffs n cops

'We need slave labour' more like it

Pay good wages, provide good conditions and you’ll get Australian workers. No way should we allow the exploitation of migrant workers who fear for their visas if they make the least complaint about their pay or conditions. Surely you agree AlboMP? auspoI auspol2021

Do Farmers realise there are 780,000 unemployed people, and millions more underemployed people, right here in Australia? Farmers just need to get off their behinds and pay market clearing wages & conditions rather than pushing for imported slave labour.

The govt knows it will cost a million dollars for each soul to build quarantine facilities; so we just hold off hoping it will go away and spend the money on the defence budget. So who are we borrowing from?

Do we need to buy steel and tools from China? 🤣 steel manufacturing business employment

Australia’s quarantine hotel rooms empty as India flight ban continuesMany of Australia’s quarantine facilities for returned overseas travellers are far from full as the Indian flight ban continues to leave thousands stranded. Maybe we could let more than 30 people on flights from low infection countries then? The strict flight cap is only going to prolong the backlog when we (hopefully) allow people in from India in 2 weeks? The emptiness or otherwise of the rooms is irrelevant. What is essential is each room’s ventilation being made unable to spread viral particles outside into the corridor, or into other rooms. I doubt this is the case for all quarantine facilities. “all but one of 48 infected residents had travelled from India”.....what would the number be if travel resumes?
