It's been a tough year for Rose Petsinis and the single mother of two was hoping for some respite in Tuesday’s federal budget. But she says the job measures will make it more difficult for older people like her to find work. covid19 coronavirus ausp...

Inbetween home-schooling her 10- and 14-year-old daughters and caring for her eldest, who has cystic fibrosis, Ms Petsinis has been busy applying for jobs.

"We are using our own internet, our own paper, our own ink," she said. "They want us to do projects, you have to buy the glitter. We have cooking classes where we need to buy ingredients for biscuits. Where is that money coming from? It's coming from my pocket." "You buy two loaves of bread and two cartons of milk and wonder whether it will last a fortnight," she said. "I never had to do that before. My kids miss out and it's not fair."
