aishamae I don’t trust a word the government says and I work for them

aishamae Guess what? The Covid-positive guy today in Melbourne arrived in Adelaide from India via the Maldives.

aishamae That’s not what you said when there were leaks in Victoria. Oh how you change when you want a particular outcome.

aishamae Or... Get the population vaccinated, change the risk appetite and state by state competition to have “no covid cases” - an impossible objective!

aishamae It is bizarre - that as a first world nation we have not vaccinated ourselves to such a lever that this incompetence doesn’t worry us. So slow. Lazy. Amateurish. Sloppy.

aishamae New self contained cabin type quarantine facilities will provide a better alternative to high rise hotels. The problem now is that by the time they are built, they will sit there idle until the next pandemic by which time they might be considered unusable.

aishamae Just put Gladys in charge.

aishamae Unless it’s Victoria, and then you throw all the toys out of the pram.

aishamae OK, so what you are saying is that we Ausies (I refuse to put in the second 's' for ideological reasons) should accept a standard that is much less than 'best practice'. Why?

aishamae

aishamae meanwhile 10’s of thousands of Australians remain separated indefinitely from their partners/spouses/young kids overseas. We’re one of the only countries in the world with an exit ban - even NZ never had one! Our lives are on hold these last 14 months! LoveIsNotTourism

aishamae Yep, the federal government needs to do their job

aishamae We can’t expect anything but failure from our government. Fixed that for you.

Asher_Wolf aishamae The limits of hotel quarantine are the fact that it should only ever have been a stop-gap measure while purpose built facilities were constructed. Hotels were never adequate quarantine facilities, especially once it became clear the virus could be transmitted through ventilation.
