NSW Minister for Water, Property and Housing Melinda Pavey says despite the recent rains, drought and the associated water restrictions continue to plague the centre of NSW. Ms Pavey said “dams have reached really low levels” and the big regional cities “have really big challenges ahead”.

However, Ms Pavey said the government was committed to “relieving some of the pressure” on communities by building dams and infrastructure to conserve water. “We’re having really good conversations with the commonwealth” and are looking into getting “some pipelines in the ground particularly around Bathurst and Orange,” she told Sky News host Peter Gleeson.

'Experimental' coronavirus vaccine months away, pinprick tests in doubtA vaccine against the coronavirus is Australia's only hope of defeating the pandemic - but success is not guaranteed and could take many months. I certianly dont think we should base any planning for the future on the chances of a vaccine. Thats ridiculous. Lets plan for the future assuming there isnt one. If one comes along then great China is not telling the truth. We will still win without a vaccine.
