A quarter of voters at The People’s Forum remain undecided after Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Labor leader Anthony Albanese desperately attempted to convince on-the-fence Australians to back their party on key issues including China, border security and healthcare.Mr Albanese narrowly won the contest with 40 per cent of the vote compared to Mr Morrison’s 35 per cent, but the massive undecided cohort leaves the election campaign too close to call with a month left to go until polling day.
With neither the Prime Minister and Labor leader gaining a clear majority – despite Mr Albanese winning – Sky News Australia chief anchor Kieran Gilbert said both leaders had a lot of work to do to win undecided voters. “But you didn’t when you were deputy prime minister and the boats were coming 30 and 40 a week,” Mr Morrison responded.Mr Albanese accused the Prime Minister of making an"outrageous slur" after he saidwith the Solomon Islands.
Mr Albanese immediately fired back after Gilbert asked what a Labor government would have done to stop the deal.
