On the second day of the current Test against Pakistan in Brisbane, Warner and Burns hummed along like a relationship kept apart for two long. They looked a pair wanting to make up for lost time.
While there were no huge swings or cracking connections, Australia started the day at between five and six runs per over, and within the first half hour it felt like Pakistan was losing grip on the match. Warner has had 11 opening partners since he started his unchallenged occupancy of one opening spot in 2011. His stand with Chris Rogers remains his best, helped by coming during Warner's most prolific solo years. They made 2,053 runs in 41 attempts, averaging 51.
