The ASX is set to lift after Wall Street rallied. The Nasdaq hit a record closing high after COVID-19 vaccine Pfizer gained full approval in the US.

Australian shares are poised to rise, as Wall Street's Nasdaq closed on a record high after Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine gained full approval in the US.Vaccine and travel stocks were boosted by the newsASX futures were up 4 points to 4,434 at 6:30am AEST.In New York, the Nasdaq finished up 1.5 per cent to 14,942.65.

The Dow Jones gained 0.6 per cent to 35,335, while the benchmark S&P 500 added 0.8 per cent to end the day at 4,479.The U.S. Food and Drug Administration granted full approval to the COVID-19 vaccine developed by Pfizer-BioNTech.

"I don't think this will get all the doubters vaccinated but this news today will probably drive [the vaccinated rate] closer to 75 per cent."Rival Moderna Inc gained 7.5 per cent, while Trilium Therapeutics jumped 188 per cent after it was announced it would be acquired by Pfizer.Delta was up 2 per cent, American Airlines lifted 3 per cent higher, while Carnival and Norwegian Cruise Lines climbed 4 per cent.Brent crude was up 5.1 per cent and worth $US68.
