Under the updated rules effective immediately, arrivals who haven’t been to the locations will have to self-isolate until they return a negative test while those who visited them will have to complete their 14-day quarantine.
About 26,600 people were tested for the virus in NSW on Saturday and more than 1000 placed in isolation as authorities worked to contain the case cluster in Bondi.WA Premier Mark McGowan said the situation was fast evolving and there were concerns the outbreak could involve the highly contagious Delta strain of the virus.
“It’s critical that anyone who is unwell or is experiencing symptoms must get a COVID test immediately. I want to thank West Australians and affected travellers for their understanding.”Health Minister Roger Cook said the outbreak in NSW was a timely reminder for West Australians to continue using the SafeWA app and to stay at home and get a test if they felt unwell.
