Two people have died in the past 24 hours following crashes in country areas – taking the road death toll to 41. “It’s an incredibly tragic reminder of the dangers of the roads, particularly in the regions.
One was in the Gascoyne and the other in the Great Southern,” said WA Road Safety Minister Paul Papalia. Police attributed driver fatigue and lack of attention to about half of road deaths around the Easter holiday in recent years. Double demerits will be in force for the next four days.
