Why are more West Australian parents choosing to homeschool their children?

abc.net.au/news/homeschooling-increase-in-wa/101689624The number of children being homeschooled in Western Australia has almost doubled in the past six years, with about 6,000 children now registered with the Education Department.Home Education Association Australia president Janelle Barnes said many parents who began homeschooling during the COVID pandemic had decided to continue with the method.

"While the teachers do their best, they can't give her the same amount of attention that I can give her working with her directly at home."Ms Barnes said the Home Education Association was seeing homeschooling increase across the country."There is definitely a large and growing cohort of what we colloquially call the 'school refugees' — they are the kids who've left school because school has not been meeting their needs," she said.

In Western Australia, home educators are required to develop a learning program that meets the guidelines and requirements of the school curriculum and standards legislation.Space to play or pause, M to mute, left and right arrows to seek, up and down arrows for volume.WA's homeschooling boom: why some kids are ending up as 'school refugees'

"Everything in life is learning — the world is our classroom. We will be in the grocery store and we're adding up, we're working out quantities.Ms Barnes says there are many reasons parents choose to educate their children at home. "Registered home education represents just over 1 per cent of the total number of school students enrolled in WA.

Going to be some under developed people.

I believe the gender ideology that has leaked into the schools is a big part of why there are so many parents home-schooling.

Probably because of the woke rubbish being taught.

It would be interesting to find out what happens to homeschooled kids after they leave school and enter a work environment that does not totally evolve around their needs and interests...like working as part of a team and following directions other than their mother or carer !

I honestly don't blame them.

Keep them away from gr👀ming and indoctrination

yeah right stop teaching kids about the LMNOP Sickness Propaganda

Once you embrace homeschooling you see how nurturing the homeschooling environment can be. And how abnormal main stream schooling. And if your child is being bullied then save them 12 years of torture.

Fair enough. The Australian education system has become a cess pit of indoctrination. Teaching kids to hate themselves and their country along with taking rights away from parents and influencing young kids to chop off their genitals.

Yep. Who wants their kids indoctrinated and groomed

Good.

Considering how schools are indoctrinating children with degenerative left wing ideals, it makes sense that any rational parent will choose homeschooling.
