A child has been rushed to a Perth hospital after consuming an alcohol-based hand sanitiser, prompting an urgent warning.

The child ingested between 30 to 60 millilitres of the alcohol-based sanitiser and was rushed to a Perth hospital with acute intoxication.WA’s commissioner for consumer protection Lanie Chopping said parents and carers of children should be extra vigilant as children often mistook the bottles of sanitiser for food or drink.Take a look at how soap acts as one of our best defences against the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Hand sanitiser should always be kept out of reach of children and should only be used by children under adult supervision,” Ms Chopping said.“Consumers who use their own bottles at in-store hand sanitiser refill stations should clearly mark their bottles to avoid confusion with any other household or food items.”

WA government knew of 'high-risk' hotel quarantine dangers weeks before Perth lockdownWA's health department was warned in March about 'high-risk' ventilation issues at the Mercure Hotel — the quarantine hotel at the centre of Perth's coronavirus outbreak. Most of the state governments have been speaking about these dangers for months; hotels aren’t designed for this. 🙄 They literally all did. And Lord Mark of Rockingham did what? Sweet nothing but blame the feds. Change the record , you won the election by LOTS! Time to do something other than rely on China ( iron ore) and blaming everyone else.

WA to assess the cost of Perth's snap lockdown | Sky News AustraliaPerth’s three-day lockdown has been labelled draconian and over the top by some doctors as the cost of the shutdown is revealed.\n\nNo new community cases have been recorded in Western Australia, but Premier Mark McGowan will not lift some of the remaining restrictions unless the trend continues. \n\nThe lockdown ended on Tuesday, but the four-square metre rule is still in place and only 20 patrons are allowed at a time regardless of venue size meaning it is not viable for some businesses to reopen. \n\nThe cost of the snap lockdown in Perth and the Peel regions was over $70 million according to estimates from state treasury but Mr McGowan argued the cost of a wider outbreak would have been much higher.\n\nThe next easing of restrictions is due at 12:01 on Saturday morning. Dr Who? Or are we back to quoting demon sperm 'doctors' at Sky News? Idiot govt, the result of no new cases would have been the same without lockdown. The WA voters have gifted Labor at least two more terms from that last election. Victorians made the same mistake in 2018 & we now have the most arrogant, zero accountability govt in state history. ' ... by some doctors'. I notice you didn't say who they were. Could you not dig up a discredited hyper-conservative in time for this blurb, or have you just given up all pretence of being a 'news' organisation and decided to go down the 'New Idea' path of making up sources now?

Hotel quarantine solution 'staring us in the face', WA Premier insistsWA Premier Mark McGowan all but rules out building new COVID-19 quarantine centres to replace hotels, but argues the solution is 'staring us in the face' in purpose-built Commonwealth facilities. Not my problem Good luck getting him to agree to that, it’s all political to him and mark McGowan is a labor premier, even though it’s a very very sensible solution.
