WA Premier Mark McGowan announced the changes on Saturday evening, revealing the state has elevated SA from a very low risk to a low risk jurisdiction based on the latest health advice.on arrival and on day 12 of self-quarantine.Travellers must also self-quarantine for 14 days in a suitable premise and complete a G2G Pass declaration prior to arrival, stipulating they do not have any COVID-19 symptoms and which jurisdictions they have been in the previous 14 days.

Anyone who arrived in WA from SA on or after November 23, and has been at an exposure site during the specified time between November 23 and 1.15pm today, is required to self-quarantine for 14 days and be tested immediately and at day 12.Anyone who has arrived in WA during this time period and has not been at an exposure site should monitor their health and get tested if they develop symptoms, even mild, which could be related to COVID-19.
"Over the past 24 hours, we have seen reports of a new COVID-19 variant, Omicron, detected in parts of the world including southern Africa, Europe, Asia and the Middle East," Mr McGowan said. "These reports are concerning, and reinforce the need to keep Western Australia's strong border controls and hotel quarantine system in place to keep WA safe – as we have done over the past 18 months.
