Two more staff at the North West Regional Hospital test positive to coronavirus, taking the total to six, prompting a ban on visitors to the facility as well as the Mersey Community Hospital.

The Tasmanian Health Service is closing the North West Regional Hospital and the Mersey Community Hospital to visitors due to two further NWRH staff members testing positive for coronavirus.

Chief Medical Officer Professor Tony Lawler said it may be necessary for other staff and patients to be tested for coronavirus, but this would occur as investigations progress.
