Alan Fletcher, the actor behind Australian television's most enduring GP, has been recruited by the UK's National Health Service to help spruik its new coronavirus app | BevanShields

Alan Fletcher, the actor behind Australian television's most enduring GP, has been recruited by the National Health Service to help spruik its new coronavirus app.still rates its socks off here, and calling up Ramsay Street's popular medico is a shrewd move. Strict adherence to government rules is needed to avoid a major second wave but fatigue is setting in and new voices are needed to cut through.

"As we've found in Australia, it's very hard to convince people to download things like this app," Fletcher said. "It's hard sometimes to think outside your own bubble. We tend to live very much in our own little world and we don't pay a lot of attention to what is happening in other countries," Fletcher said.

BevanShields I think of Neighbours more of a UK TV series that just happens to be shot here. I don't think I've ever watched it.

BevanShields At least Scot Cam was a builder once.

BevanShields Best not to tell them about the Australian govt’s corona virus app. $40m down the toilet...👍

With Europe in the grip of a COVID-19 second wave, Italy is on edgeIt fought a good fight and resisted for longer than its hard-hit neighbours, but there are now signs Italy is again losing the battle against coronavirus. Yawn. At what point will ABC put these figures in context? France has 519,000 active cases and 1416 serious/critical. Or 0%. This is now almost 2 month into this 'wave' and deaths arent spiking. There is good news here...why can't you publish it? Is it deliberate misinformation?

Trump reports 'no symptoms', returns to downplaying virusTrump again publicly played down the virus on Twitter after his return from a three-day hospitalisation. I’ve seen that contradicted by a few sources and his playing down of the virus with ppl dying for his own political ends, is manifestly irresponsible. Donald J. Trump Feeling really good! Don’t be afraid of Covid. Don’t let it dominate your life. We have developed, under the Trump Administration, some really great drugs & knowledge. I feel better than I did 20 years ago legend.

'It's a worrying time': Why NSW will not be rid of coronavirus any time soonThe truth is, despite no new locally acquired coronavirus cases being recorded in NSW for the past 12 days, Australia's most populous state has never been rid of the virus. Probably exactly the same reasons we aren’t rid of every other disease. Honestly, who writes this shit? After the Ruby Princess Whitewash You would never trust Gladys Has Brad Hazzard still got a job It's not nearly as worrying as media orgs insist though. We have to live with this endemic virus.
