Investigation underway after Syd hotel quarantine guard contracts virus | Sky News AustraliaA serious investigation is underway to determine how a security guard working at a Sydney quarantine hotel could have contracted the virus from an overseas traveller. \n\nHealth authorities confirmed the virus was contracted from a returned US traveller staying at the Marriott hotel at Circular Quay following genome sequencing. \n\nThe DNA of the virus matched that of the strain that came in from the US, not the strain linked to the Sydney and Melbourne outbreaks. \n\nThe security guard developed symptoms on August 11 before returning a positive test on Saturday. \n\nThe guard also worked at the Parramatta Local Court and the Sydney markets in Flemington while potentially infectious. \n\nNSW Health said a serious investigation was underway to establish how the virus was transmitted. A serious investigation! Really?🤔🙄 Relieved it's a 'serious investigation' as opposed to a 'not so serious investigation' or a 'comedic investigation'. 🤔 dosen't take much of an imagination to figure it out.
