Rubbish , Gotland class are a quarter the price quieter on AIP and defensively a better sub , nuclear subs are only good when your wishing to travel long distances and stay submerged for eternity.
That's so true. But US are not going to give Australia Virginia class submarines, and Australia doesn't have sailors to manage those submarines.

The French make Nuclear submarines why didn't we ask them to swap diesel for nuclear in the subs they were building for us it would have saved us nearly a billion dollars in compensation.
