RBA governor Philip Lowe says the Victorian virus outbreak has set back national recovery and revealed that low interest rates could be in place for three more years | swrighteconomy JennieDuke

The Victorian coronavirus outbreak will set back Australia's economic recovery, Reserve Bank governor Philip Lowe has warned, saying it is unlikely the economy will start growing until the final three months of the year.

The government and RBA had, before the outbreak in Victoria, been expecting a lift in the September quarter after a deep fall in activity through the June quarter. "Given the outlook I discussed earlier, these conditions are not likely to be met for at least three years," he said.Dr Lowe said it was clear ongoing government support for the economy would be needed.

If the government took this virus seriously, why were people with the virus ever allowed to remain in a nursing home? Our nursing homes don't have the ability to deal with this virus, everyone knows that. . . . and thats the way the state/fed relationship should work Now we just need to take over the useless Victorian Government

Homes and social settings linked to thousands of Victorian coronavirus cases since JuneA significant proportion of Victoria's coronavirus outbreaks during the state's second wave are in social and home settings, while abattoirs and warehouses remain some of the workplaces hardest hit by the virus. only reason is because one person gets infected at work and gives it to their household. Abboitoirs, aged care, healthcare and returning travellers were high risk areas and all they had to do was stop importing the virus- & then prepare with good PPE (Something still not avail)
