Treasurer Josh Frydenberg says he is pleasantly surprised by an election result that has his party set to lose just two of its Victorian MPs

Treasurer Josh Frydenberg, who is set to comfortably retain his electorate ofdespite a number of high-profile challengers, said he was"very pleasantly surprised" by the election result.

"Pollsters got it wrong with Brexit, they got it wrong with Trump and now they've got it wrong at the federal election in Australia," he told ABC Radio Melbourne. Mr Frydenberg said he felt the Coalition had performed"pretty well" in Victoria but acknowledged they faced a"tougher" fight to hold Corangamite and Dunkley.
