Rapid antigen tests for students is expected to form part of the Victorian government's return-to-school strategy.Victoria's blueprint for protecting students and staff from COVID-19 as they return to classrooms next week could be announced as early as Sunday.

Victorian public and low-fee independent schools have also been promised 51,000 air purifiers prior to classes resuming.Meanwhile, inactive or retired teachers, retired principals and other education staff are being recruited to plug COVID-related holes in the workforce. Education Minister James Merlino says every sector is under pressure from Omicron and education will be no exception.

Unless separate air conditioners are in each classroom air purifiers - although they will help a great deal will not be enough. Smaller classroom numbers are also essential so children can be socially distanced correctly. Why can't Govts see split hours of teaching is an answer?

Forging ahead with school start seems uncharacteristic of Andrews govt. It'll be a mock start. Teacher/student absence for 5 days means considerable delay and disruption to the learning schedule and parents will miss work. A uniform planned delay in a covid🌊 is common sense
