Victoria has reintroduced mandatory mask rules, reduced the number of people allowed in homes and paused an increase on the number of people allowed in offices after a hotel quarantine worker contracted COVID-19.
From 11:59pm on Wednesday night, private gatherings will be limited to 15 people and masks will become mandatory in indoor settings.It follows the diagnosis of a 26-year-old hotel quarantine worker, who had been serving as a resident support officer as part of the Australian Open quarantine program. Premier Daniel Andrews said it was possible the person had the highly infectious UK strain of the virus and authorities had to assume he had infected other people.
"This is one case, there's no need for people to panic," Mr Andrews said, adding Victorians knew how to manage outbreaks.

Workers are given extremely little instruction on the correct use of PPE. There should be mandatory training for it and competency standards attained. If think workers have every right to sue employers who don't provide this level of training.

Moving quarantine centres away from the best medical facilities doesn’t sound like a good idea to me but hotels just as bad as cruise ship incubators. I’ll bet their are plenty of empty facilities that would do the job. I’d start with the dentention centres.

HQ needs to be reviewed. Never had confidence in it. Guards should wear full PPE & halls in hotels need monitored security cameras. Better still move HQ to remoter places with quick access to hospital staff. Fed govt take responsibility? ...can’t be trusted not to stuff it up.

Stop accepting overseas travellers until highly affected/infected countries get this disease under control, this means no tennis tournaments, no tour down under bike race, no Grand Prix (or any other international) car races, no concerts, be patient.

Quarantine has to be moved out of the cities and not staffed by low paid hotel and security staff. The community deserves greater levels of circuit breaking distancing. Frontline staff cannot walk out of work and into multiple city venues. Every state has got it wrong to date.
