Victoria records 2297 new local Covid-19 cases, breaks national record

The state’s health department confirmed the new figures about 9am, which was a new national record and the first time an Australian state has broken 2000 daily cases.Victoria’s seven-day cases average had been falling earlier this week but has now balloooned to 1806, data analyst website CovidBase AU reports.
