Victoria Police not investigating Vatican payments allegedly linked to Pell trial

Victoria Police says it has received information about money transferred from the Vatican to Australia, but will not be investigating further as there was no evidence of suspicious activity.On Tuesday AUSTRAC revealed it had provided information to Victoria Police and the Australian Federal Police about alleged transfers from the Vatican

But it said it had not received evidence of "suspicious activity" connected to the transfers, and was not investigating further at this stage "Yes I can confirm AUSTRAC has looked into the matter and we've provided information to the AFP and to Victoria Police," Ms Rose told a Senate estimates committee.

"AUSTRAC has made Victoria Police aware of transfer of monies from the Vatican over a period of time to Australia," Victoria Police said in a statement."In the absence of any other evidence or intelligence Victoria Police has noted the advice from AUSTRAC.Cardinal Becciu has strongly denied the allegations against him.

It doesn't matter as Austrac has confirmed the AFP are investigating. It may be a nothing case, but we need to see why 700,000€ were sent from the Vatican to Australia. The feral left wing calling for a Federal ICAC would remove this case from such a commission.
