Hail falls near Toowoomba as afternoon storms move across the south-east

BOM senior forecaster Peter Markworth told ABC Brisbane today could be just as bad, with more thunderstorms expected.

"It's very much a carbon copy of what we saw yesterday, with showers and thunderstorms to pop up through the mid-morning and then start to roll off towards the east coast as we get through the afternoon," Mr Markworth said.A chunk of hail measuring almost 55 millimetres fell at Merlwood, west of Gympie.

"[So] we should expect a very similar situation to yesterday where we saw a bit of squall line move across with the heavy rainfall that fell across Brisbane city and suburbs."

Queensland police deny video shows officer assaulting Brisbane refugee protesterProtesters say the man targeted by the officer was injured and taken to hospital after the incident, but senior police say video released by protesters makes it 'appear far worse than it is'. Hold them accountable, the police are meant to protect and serve, they have a higher standard than any. State sponsored thuggery has become the norm in all AUS states.
