V’landys calls on players to behave for sake of game after Koroisau hit with $35,000 fine and ban

NRL boss Peter V’landys has warned players the cancellation of the season would have devastating impacts on the game’s future, but gave assurances there would be no more bubble breaches after the code received a final warning from the Queensland government on Friday.

All NRL clubs are currently based in Queensland, under quarantine conditions, while some families flew into the state this week as well. On Thursday, the NRL judiciary launched an investigation into an alleged COVID-19 breach by Apisai Koroisau.“I’m very, very concerned about what is happening with these NRL players. This is too risky. We just cannot have people deliberately breaching the rules.”

V’landys said the game would be devastated if the NRL’s Queensland hub was brought to an end as a result of bubble breaches.
