As bushfires continue to devastate large parts of the country, concerns have been raised about the widespread impact on tourism.

Tourism and Transport Forum CEO Margy Osmond told Sky News people were being misinformed about the state of Australia.

Tourism groups estimated the bushfires to cost the industry “hundreds of millions of dollars”, putting a dent in Australia's reputation as a safe holiday destination. The United States advised its citizens to exercise 'increased caution' when travelling to Australia, placing the nation into the same risk category as Papua New Guinea. Image: Getty

Come on.. Mention climate change. You know you want to.

Here in Merimbula my favourite coffee shop had 4 kids working at peak season recently. Overnight just a couple when the tourists fled. Chip mill, oysters ruined, tourism, but this is Australia wide this problem. Anyone ready for a wait for it... 'Recession' ?

Those on the right ask what the cost of more global action on climate change may be. The rest of us hold our breath as the cost of not acting on climate change globally is starting to just scratch the surface.

Has anyone raised these concerns with ScottMorrisonMP So he knows to ignore them

Well yes obviously - you would be mad to book a trip at the moment with no end in sight and Australians won't travelling to domestic resorts in a hurry either. Sad really.

No they haven’t. The concerns are over whether we all survive in the first place. The Rightwing have had 25 years to implement renewable energy and remove fossil fuels from the economy. To late now isnt it ? Just ask my home are of thr South Coast of NSW.

30 YEARS OF WARNINGS!!!! Question is will ScottyfromMarketing finally wake up and respond to the ClimateCrisis or will he just pretend it's not happening and let this get even worse and let it do even more damage to the Economy & Environment? BushFireCrisisAustralia

protest the park officials who wilfully let the fuel load build up over years and they must be held to account

What a Beautiful country...

These fires will be a defining moment in our history.
