Prosecutors say Brooke Skylar Richardson had searched for how to get rid of a baby before she buried her daughter in her family backyard.

A young US mother who was acquitted of charges that she killed and buried her newborn is scheduled to be sentenced on a corpse abuse charge.Forensic pathologist told the court the baby died from"homicidal violence"Brooke Skylar Richardson, now 20, was acquitted by an Ohio court of aggravated murder, involuntary manslaughter and child endangerment charges on Thursday .

She had faced up to life in prison if she had been convicted on the most serious charge. Ms Richardson began shaking and sobbing while a judge read the not guilty verdicts.The charge carries a potential sentence of up to one year in prison, but as a first-time offender, she could get probation when sentenced on Friday.

Ms Richardson was walked out of the courtroom in handcuffs after the judge revoked her bond. She and her mother exchanged tearful"I love yous" as deputies led her away.
