US Marine cleared of COVID-19, released from Darwin quarantine. 9News

confirmed the Marine could be released from quarantine after a month.

The 21-year-old became the second person to test positive to COVID-19 in the NT last month after arriving in the second cohort at Roberston Barracks from Japan.According the Australian Defence Department, the Marine was asymptomatic and had been isolated at Royal Darwin Hospital.In a statement, a spokesperson for the US Marine Rotational Force said "the Marine was identified early on due to the strict testing and quarantine procedures in place".

"He was entered into the NT healthcare system where he was to remain until he received two negative COVID-19 tests at least 24 hours apart," the spokesperson said.
