The White House and senators have reached a deal on a $2 trillion stimulus package which “sprinkles across all areas of the American economy” to try and “stop the United States from dying”, The Australian’s Washington Correspondent Cameron Stewart says.

“So big is this crisis here in the US and globally they’re really talking about this as the first stage of a stimulus process, which is a remarkable thing to do,” Mr Stewart said. US President Donald Trump recently said “we cannot let the cure we worse than the problem itself” and indicated he wanted to open the US up in less than three weeks.

But Mr Stewart said “nervous” and “scared” Americans won’t suddenly defy social distancing rules even if Mr Trump wants to hastily re-open the economy in the coronavirus climate. “People aren’t suddenly going to listen to him and jump of aeroplanes, they’re not suddenly going to go into crowded restaurants,” he said. “The state governors control what happens in their state. “Donald Trump is just trying to send the message that as soon as possible we want this economy up and running.

Donald Trump wants US economy to open by Easter | Sky News AustraliaCNN reporter Camila Bernal says American citizens are being confused by President Trump's goal to lift restrictions by Easter while local authorities are reporting a rise in the nation's infections. \n\nCongressional law makers in the US are pushing for further economic relief from the government for Americans who have lost work due to the pandemic as the number of infections passes 57,000 with 677 deaths. \n\nMs Bernal told Sky News “there is no specific unified message for the entire United States so some people might be confused by that”. \n\nGovernment authorities will collect information from the states to help them “decide when they will ease the restrictions or enforce these restrictions once again,” she said. \n\nShe also said the US was not in the same position as other countries where law enforcers were able to force citizens to comply with government restrictions. \n\n“At the end of the day it is left to the individual citizen to follow these guidelines to stay at home or not.”\n\nImage: Getty Screw Camila and screw CNN. -_- I am not being confused, like this so called CNN fake news reporter. I understand Trump with no problems at all. He's a moron, going to cost so much more $ when they lose all the lower classes without insurance and no-one is left to work the games, factories and service sector.
