As many as 100 people are feared trapped in the debris of a five-storey building that collapsed in an industrial town in western India on Monday evening.A local politician said only about half of the building's residents were home at the timeThe building in Mahad, about 165 kilometres south of Mumbai, comprised about 47 flats and housed roughly 200 residents. The cause of the collapse is yet to be determined.
Not all the residents of the building were at home when it crumbled in the evening, local politician Bharatshet Maruti Gogawale told Reuters.
Irrespective of the age of the building one can be sure officialdom will now go after scapegoats to cover their own failings. Happens all over Asia and beyond.
Maybe if there were strict building, materials, regulations, codes (for such a business like people), will save the ones left in apartments, to live towards safer future.

only bad news from countries like India, China, Iran, Gulf region other than Israel, Asian countries other than Japan, South Korea and Singapore make it to the news in Australia due to racial profiling but news media in australia..good news won't be broadcast..lol
