Breaking: An unvaccinated primary school student and backpacker have contracted measles in Sydney | Kaubo

An unvaccinated primary school student and backpacker have contracted measles in Sydney, prompting warnings for children at a school in the city's west and people in the CBD.

The local Public Health Unit is contacting other patients who may have come into contact with the infectious child. Measles outbreaks in popular tourist destinations, particularly the Philippines, means the risk for measles being imported into Australia remains high, Dr Sheppeard said.

Kaubo It's time un-vaccinated kids are banned from public schools. If parents wish to be so selfish as to put not only their own kids but the general population at risk, they can jolly well home school their kids.

Kaubo How did that happen ?🤔 they must have listened to Pete Evans.

MarieCo92176893 Kaubo Hope the parents of the kid are happy now! Stupid anti-vaxxers putting every child around them at risk. Anti social pro-plaguers!

'Fantastic turnout': School climate strike draws big crowd in SydneyA massive crowd of students gathered in the Sydney CBD to rally against climate change inaction, with protesters overflowing from Town Hall. do kids that wag school normally attend school in protest then 😀 Wait until they are 40, finally leave home and have to pay their own electricity bills. 😂 I say good on them for finding their voice and using it and shame on us for not being out there to support them. I say enough of the “she’ll be right mate” approach because “she” ain’t going to be right if we continue sticking our heads in the sand & ignoring the issue. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

'It is student-led change': Sydney schools support pupils ahead of climate rallyThe leaders of some of Sydney's most exclusive private schools are supporting their students attendance at today's climate change rally, with one telling its students to become change they seek to see in the world. Whens the journalism strike? Fark off. It's a reason for a day off school. Not one kid taking tomorrow off gives one shit about climate change. If they did, they wouldn't own that lithium based, copper and plastic ridden smart phone! Surely it would be better to hold the rally on a Weekend when everyone could go along and the kiddies would not miss school. 🤭
