Three Australian universities have made the top 100 on a major international list, with Melbourne maintaining its top spot despite dropping five places on last year.
Over half the 39 Australian universities on the list of 2000 improved their position on last year, including Australian National University, University of Western Australia and University of Technology Sydney. “In the last five years, Australia’s global share in scientific output fell by 16 per cent while, by comparison, China grew by 33 per cent.
