Council on the Ageing says doctors who charge consultation fee for prescription for older people should be called out

Seventy-year-old pensioner Chris Sitka, who lives in Melbourne’s northern suburbs, said she “begged” her GP to bulk bill her when she caught Covid-19 and needed a script for antivirals.

“If you’re financially strapped you will wait until you’re very sick before you go and pay that money and basically that will be a life-shortening thing. If you let things go they’ll get worse and basically you see that your life expectancy will decline.” “These antivirals have been shown to significantly reduce the risk of death and severe symptoms. To place that at risk for a $40 copayment is morally bankrupt, unethical and should be publicly called out. I also think it should be treated as a breach of professional standards.”

Price said GPs are doing their best to run practices amid rising costs and inadequate Medicare rebates. “But GPs have been required throughout this pandemic to repeatedly put their hands into the pockets of their businesses to keep their practices running,” she said.

The latest COVID-19 case numbers from around the states and territoriesHere's a quick wrap of today's COVID statistics from each state and territory. Never forget Australia. Our governments want us to die by banning thousands and thousands of health and aged care workers without covid from working with mandates when jabs did nothing at all to stop the spread. They have blood on their hands. More strange numbers just one unvaxxed ends up in hospital. Just one. None admitted to ICU. So if you are unvaxxed you have a zero chance of ending up in ICU according to health NSW. Yet 22 unvaxxed deaths are listed. Are they all in nursing homes? All old? Cancer?

Long lockdowns a ‘failure of policy’, says WHO envoy on COVIDA leading figure in the international response to the pandemic has described repeated use of lockdowns during the first two years of the COVID crisis as a failure of narrative and policy. | EXCLUSIVE by Chip Le Grand mmm... hindsight is a wonderful thing isn't it 🙄 just imagine if the LNP govt actually ordered and distributed vaccines efficiently early on the long lockdowns wouldn't have been necessary at all... oh i know all the 'reasoning' but that again is hindsight isn't it?😏 Melbourne, Australia: the longest lockdown on the planet 🤡🌏 Nabarro’s comments seem reasonable and I note CHO Sutton agrees with many of those comments. There will be plenty of mayo poured all over those reasonable comments to turn them into politicised BS. I note he never mentioned HQ as an issue. It wasn’t.
