Latifa has a tempestuous relationship with her father, Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.A spokeswoman for Ms Bachelet's office said earlier this month it had not received a requested "proof of life" for Sheikha Latifa from the UAE.
