Ukrainian authorities said at least 50 people, including five children, were killed while trying to flee Kramatorsk in what has been described as a 'horrific atrocity committed by Russia'.

“38 people died on the spot. Another 12 people died in hospitals during the day. We lost five children. Dozens more seriously injured remain in hospital.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba said Russians “knew” the train station was being used to evacuated Ukrainians. Ukraine’s Defence Ministry said the Russians wrote “revenge to the children” on a rocket, which led to the deaths of at least five kids.“The attack on a Ukrainian train station is yet another horrific atrocity committed by Russia, striking civilians who were trying to evacuate and reach safety,” he said.
