'Go home!' Incredible scenes in the Ukrainian city of Kherson, where Russian army trucks turned around after being confronted by residents. Ukraine 9News MORE:

The Russian Defence Ministry's spokesman, Major General Igor Konashenkov, said a Kinzhal hypersonic missile hit a Ukrainian fuel depot in Kostiantynivka, a city near Mykolaiv.

Despite the siege in Mariupol and the geographic scope of Russia's assault, many remained struck by Ukraine's ability to hold back its much bigger, better-armed foe."Gaining control of the air was one of Russia's principal objectives for the opening days of the conflict and their continued failure to do so has significantly blunted their operational progress," the ministry said on Twitter.

The reported battlefield deaths of four Russian generals — out of an estimated 20 in the fight — signal impaired command, he said. UN bodies have confirmed more than 847 civilian deaths since the war began, though they concede the actual toll is likely much higher.Evacuations from Mariupol and other besieged cities proceeded along eight of 10 humanitarian corridors that Ukraine and Russia agreed to on Saturday Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk said, and a total of 6623 people left.

9NewsMelb This is who Ukraine's 'President' really is, A LGBT! Look how he is dressed and how he moves his lower body and hands! Are you serious that you made this guy a President?

9NewsAdel The Russians are being so careful not to injure civilians. Had that been a US tank they would have been ‘suspected of having a grenade’ and everyone would be dead. We saw that so often in Afghanistan and Iraq

Trucks stopped for pedestrians, just like the tanks too. Soldiers like this can never win a war against its people, only win the heart.

Good on you

It’s just incredible how the media always seem to be at the right spot at the right time.

Next minute bombs will ve dropping

Lucky it’s not ISIS who don’t care about civilians and news cameras

I thought Russians are blowing civilians to pieces. Get your stories right 9News Australia

Hmm, in any other war they would have been blown to pieces. Weird

In a war against the people the people will fight back, even without the governments backing them

9NewsMelb Disproves your media reports that Russia is trying to kill them!

Better than killing each other. But hey we're humans. Destroying each other and the world we live is what we do best. Now to get rid of religion.

Ukraine says school bombed in Mariupol, accuses Russia of war crimesUkraine President Volodymyr Zelensky says he is ready for negotiations. MarkWBurrows 9News LATEST: MarkWBurrows 19 years ago today, the US and UK invaded Iraq. Over a million killed. Millions more made refugees. Worse birth defects and cancer rates than Hiroshima. One of the biggest crimes of this century. Yet no calls for sanctions. And the war criminals responsible are walking free. MarkWBurrows As I understand there’s only been two issues since before the war: 1) independence & protection for the sth east /eastern states that didn’t support the 2014 revolution 2) Ukraine not joining NATO so NATO forces aren’t on the Russian border MarkWBurrows Why? I thought with all the media coverage saying that Russia is a basket case and currently failing to win the war. Confused
