This would be unfortunate, but little more than a pyrrhic victory for Russia at this point, not a 'key strategic city'. While Ukraine has been defending the rubble, the rest of their forces have been consolidating logistics to allow entry of new armoured units to be deployed.

Now with the gender equity bit, will USA conscript their women top fight over there this time?

I would hardly call Bakhmut a 'key strategic city'. It's more like a dot on the map that Wagner PMC and now Russia are willing to spend thousands of lives on.

We really *must* do more for Ukraine. They are fighting for all of us. They should be getting more resources, weapons and ammunition from all democratic nations.

Bakhmut not strategic, Russia became fixated on the demolished city. Ukraine defended it as Russia was suffering huge casualties attacking defended positions. Now that there is a possibility of encirclement it is time for Ukraine to drop back, prioriy limiting own casualties.

What happened to winning ABC....?
