The British government has ordered the Navy to accompany UK flagged ships through the Strait of Hormuz.

It's hoped the naval escort will provide protection to merchants sailing under a British flag as tensions in the region rose after the assassination of an Iranian

military commander by US forces. Britain's Defence Minister Ben Wallace commanded the HMS Montrose and HMS Defender to prepare to accompany all ships sailing under a British flag.
